Flick Drummond MP Site Visit

Thursday, July 8, 2021

On 18th June, Meon Valley MP Flick Drummond visited Berewood to find out more about the development and how we are working hard ensure the site is as environmentally friendly as possible.

Flick was told how the site is nitrate neutral so that construction does not lead to environmental pollution, about our sustainable drainage which allows surface water to filter naturally into the ground and how the drainage ditches are providing a home for wildlife.

“I was very impressed to hear of the environmental credentials of this major development near Waterlooville and some of the other amenities too,” said Flick.

“This has to be the way forward for all development with more and more emphasis on how we can live in balance with nature, not exclude it.”

“Berewood shows it can be done and I would urge other construction companies to look hard at this project for ideas and even go further if possible. There is much developers, local communities, local authorities and individuals can do to help with biodiversity and to tackle climate change. It all adds up.”
