Harmonix Construction and Tetra Tech clearing the tree guards
In January and February two of our supply chain partners Harmonix Construction and Tetra Tech volunteered for two afternoons clearing the tree guards that had been in place for almost ten years adjacent to the large balancing pond in Oak Vale. Tree guards are put in when new trees and shrubs are planted in an area to protect them from the elements and wildlife. Notice due to excessive rainfall The ponds form part of the development’s SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems) surface water system. They are specifically designed to hold and store water during periods of heavy or prolonged rainfall. By temporarily filling, the ponds slow the rate at which surface water is discharged, helping to manage flows and reduce pressure on the drainage network before water is released in a controlled manner to the River Wallington.
