Works on water supply pipe

The works will start week commencing Monday 6th October, and are expected to last for no longer than two weeks. These necessary works are unlikely to cause any disruption to residents, except when access to the shared parking area will be restricted to allow excavation across the footpath. The restriction will be in place between 08:00 and 17:00 daily on the following dates. Road surface improvements

Road surface improvements from 8th of September until mid-December As part of the ongoing efforts to improve the road surface and eventual handover to Hampshire County Council, Na4a Building Company have been contracted to carry out the necessary repairs and replacements to facilitate the final surfacing of the roads and footpaths along Newlands Avenue and Marrelsmoor Avenue (Areas highlighted in this PDF  250918 NATTA Letter to Phase 2 and 13 Residents) The repair and improvement works will involve replacing and repairing surface water gullies, raising ironworks, replacing broken and damaged kerb stones, and the eventual installation of the final road

Work experience placement

During the summer term the Berewood team were joined by a Year 10 student from Oaklands Catholic Primary for her work experience placement. We were so impressed with her growth in confidence and knowledge during the week. She worked on a micro project over the week; interviewing team members about their jobs, visiting Redrow’s sales office, creating office signage, sending emails, observing meetings and attended a nature observation walk with the ecologist, she then delivered a presentation at the end of her week reflecting on her time with us. .       Each year we offer work experience placement to

The Grainger team welcomed Havant and Newlands Councillors

The Grainger team welcomed Cllr P Munday (Leader of Havant Borough Council), Cllr A Harrison (Havant Borough Council and Cllr D Crichton (Newlands Parish Council) to Berewood this week.  It gave us an opportunity to share the story of the Berewood development and introduce elected members to the housing, green spaces, River Wallington and surrounding nature areas that we are so proud of.  These meetings give all parties the opportunity to ask valuable and insightful questions so we are all informed on the future plans and national and local challenges.  We had the added bonus that the sun came out!

Mayoral visit to Berewood

We were delighted to welcome both Cllr Patrick Cunningham, Mayor of Winchester, and Cllr Prad Bains, Mayor of Havant, to Berewood for a socially distanced site visit last month. On 28th September the Mayors visited both the Berewood and Wellington Park developments, which together form the Parish of Newlands. Newlands Parish Profile

Community team members from Winchester City Council, Havant Borough Council, Newlands Parish Council and Grainger Plc have come together to start work on a Community Plan for Berewood and Wellington Park developments. Both areas are covered by Newlands Parish Council, and as part of the process a Parish Profile has been created, containing a wide range of information about the area. Nature Reserve application submitted

An application to create a community nature reserve at Berewood has been submitted to Winchester City Council’s planning team. Part of the 250 acres of green space across the site, the nature reserve will run along the western edge of the development and include children’s play areas, a dog agility area, and many ecological improvements. The application also includes the southern allotments, one of two allotment sites on the development, which will be for resident use and managed by Newlands Parish Council.
